Fresh strawberries rock. Your elflings are very lucky.
We think so, too. ♥
I try to eat seasonally. The theory is that when strawberries are in season I eat them until im sick of them, which usually happens just in time for blueberries :)
Awesome! I’m looking forward to a big box of strawberries so I can make some jam… just not sure if they’d last long enough to make more than one jar. ♥
One for me, one for jam. One for me, one for jam.
I tell my sister to get organic ones for her kids because pesticides get through easily on these. She does — when she feels like it. :( I tell her — “for the love of god for the kids get them!!!” You can’t always be concerned about saving money when it comes to what you put into your body. I love strawberries too! :)
I totally agree, Auntie. You’re either going to be giving your money to a doctor when you get sick, or to a farmer/grocer to eat well and stay healthy. I much prefer the latter, simply because good food is worth every penny, especially where children are concerned. ♥
Also, I loathe visiting doctors. XD
My horrible mutt Bert usually eats all of ours as fast as they ripen. My fault… One day as I was gardening when he was still a wee puppy, I clicked him an overripe strawberry as a treat. Thus, I created a strawberry monster…
PS – does this mean we get strawberry recipes from you now? *happy dances*
Awwwwe! Bert is a smart puppy! ♥
I will share all of my strawbaby recipes with you. ♥
Yay! :D xx
Your elfings know what’s good and delicious. Strawberry season is over for me, still have some raspberries, blackberries should be coming in soon.
We would eat berries for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, tea, and absent in-betweens if we could. ♥
Like, like, like! Having just finished a period of intense revision, I would like these strawberries please! :)
I love using an egg slicer to create the natural heart shaped fruits display their form. Especially, in the champaigne breakfasts my receives on mothers day, anniversaries, birthday and all new years eve celebrations until sun up.
Such a great idea! You are super-clever, my friend. =0)
Just ensure you get an egg slicer with blades and not thin wire.
Good thinking! I was envisioning the flimsy wire slicers. ;0)
Fresh berries are the best!
I totally agree. ♥
I think we need to have you at our Strawberry Festival next year. I’ve nominated you for some awards. Please see the post here http://ldsconvertblog.com/2012/07/14/awards/. Take what you like, you deserve it.
You are too kind, my friend. ♥
Thank you, from the bottom of my little, black heart. ♥
Strawberries used to be my favorite snack but that was decades ago when strawberries had a sweet taste without being too sweet, and great texture. Today’s strawberries just aren’t the same.
Very true. When we were still eating the el cheapo, GMO strawberries, they had a gritty/mealy feel in the mouth, and a bland, forgettable taste. The organic berries we buy now are the tastiest, and more like I remember them being when I was little. =0)
Strawberry is nearly gone over here in belgium. They did stay very pricy this year!
Oh no! =0(
I haven’t noticed the prices being especially “great” here, either. We’ve noticed real shortages in organic apples and potatoes here, too. It’s kind of creepy.
