I just got home from watching it. Visually it’s astounding. Far superior to LoTR. I like The Hobbit as a story better than the LoTR. All the things I loved about LoTR are back, and the dwarves are fantastic. I really enjoyed it. (Minor negative points left off, because I don’t want to draw attention to them before you watch.)

Can’t wait to see The Hobbit! Husband and I have been fans since college days. LOTR was fantastic and I expect this one is too. Peter jack and crew are masters of their arts.

Thank you. The loss of those animals is extremely sad.
I have made an informed choice to still see the movie.
We are nothing without the right to exercise our freedom
to choose, and that does include entertainment.
Seeing The Hobbit does not change my diet.

I have to agree, considering they are all to be about the same length, right around 3 hours. They have made liberal creative additions, but the essence is the same as LOTR. Maybe a small challenge for purists, but an adventure just the same.
