Tying a Windsor Knot

Yes, I can tie a tie.

Sometimes I need to, because I’m helpful like that.

Today, one of my Elflings needed me to tie a tie for her.

I happily helped her using this wonderful diagram:

I Love Sewing and Knitting! ❤

These past few weeks, in addition to working way too many shifts (at my “part-time” job… grrrrr!), I have been madly crafting some organic, bamboo velour cloth diapers for a dear friend of my eldest Elfling. It’s been awesome! :0)

I made 14 diapers for her with some of my hand-dyed organic, bamboo velour; organic, cotton velour; and two different weights of fleece (200wt Wind-Pro and fuzzy). Each diaper has an inner of luxuriously-soft, organic, bamboo velour. Yum!

This one is my absolute favourite diaper. Squish!

I’ve also been knitting like crazy! My Elflings insist I’m a robot, because they’re certain no real human could knit as fast. I assure them I’ve seen people knit much faster than I. ;0)

I realize it’s also terribly un-vegan of me to be using wool, but I have a crazy-large stash of wool that I’m finally finding time to work through.

Here’s a pic of some of the set I put together.

I just adore the colorway (Deep Space by Mosaic Moon) of this set. It’s bright but gender neutral, and so cozy!

Here’s a pic of the sweet, baby boy wearing the sweater. I have permission to share this photo, and I am super-excited to show how much cuter the sweater actually looks when worn by such an adorable, little person as this wee Elfling. Awwwwwe! ❤

With all the hubbub over the last month (Summer winding down, running around, back to school, family stuff, etc.), I neglected to mention that my middle Elfling and I caught the Messiah Complex show Russell Brand did on August 23, here in Calgary. It was phenomenal and brilliant. He’s very bright, ridiculously clever, terribly roguish, and made some excellent points. If you haven’t seen it yet, or you aren’t/weren’t able to make the show, Youtube it. It’s really good. :0)

We were this close, 4th row and center from the stage. My middle Elfling almost had a fit when she saw our seats! It was an awesome night for both of us.

New Ink to Celebrate!

Me Getting Ink

My eldest Elfling booked an appointment with her favourite tattoo artist for a combined Mother’s Day/birthday gift for me. We went in yesterday, but I was still undecided on what I wanted done. I had two images I was agonizing vacillating between. The artist looked at the images and said: “I can totally do both of them, they’re so small. No worries!” I could have hugged him! He saved me a crap tonne of grief and agony, and completely made my day. ;0)

Me Getting Ink

This is the first of the images I was torn between, a Baby Cthulhu.

Me Getting Ink

Here is my Baby Cthulhu. He’s so stinking cute! He’s also the cutest tattoo I have, and will likely be the cutest tattoo I will ever have. ;0)

Me Getting Ink

This second image is of the little monster from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” the Black Beast of Caerbannog.

Me Getting Ink

Here is my Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog! Watch out for this beastie, for he is the Legendary Black Beast of Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh! He has nasty, big, pointy teeth and a vicious streak a mile wide! I love all the blood, since this little monster is a messy eater. I’m also loving the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Fresh ink FTW! ❤
