Itsy, Bitsy Spider

Spider

I found this little “guy” dancing along the cotton cord supporting my peas this Summer. It’s really nice to see spiders and other beneficial critters hanging-out in a garden, it means there’s stuff for them to do and they’re doing it. My middle Elfling wasn’t too pleased to see him/her, but she’ll be ok.  ;0)

Spider

I kept watching this spider, and snapping shots. I’m loving the intricacies of this little being. Wow!

Spider

It’s super-cool to capture flora and fauna on film or in a digital format. It’s one of my favourite things to do at any given time, just snap photos and see what I can use.

These photos were taken with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel XS.

Because I waited…

Blue Dragonfly

…I was able to snap several photos of a massive, blue and black dragonfly who frequents our backyard. I feel so lucky to have these shots and these visits. Ever since I was a little girl, I would wonder if dragonflies weren’t fairies in disguise, and this was just the form we were able to see them from our dimension. Seeing a similar point of view woven into the mythology of Pan’s Labyrinth was a relief to me. ;0)

Garden Shots

Pea Shoots

I’m so excited every time I look at our garden! These peas are growing so nicely, and I can’t wait to harvest them. Squeeeee!

Lettuce

I’m loving this little, baby lettuce that’s popping-up. It’s not much, but it’s our very first home-grown lettuce in our organic garden.

Carrots

This was the first sprout in the carrot patch. I think my mister buried the little seeds just a touch too far down. ;0)

Sunflower

Our sunflowers are getting bigger, too. There are only three left of the five seedlings that sprouted, but I’ll be happy if only one grows up to greet the sun and beckon little pollinators to our garden. This year it’s really an experimental crop, since we’ve never done it before.

Clover

There are fluffy patches of clover everywhere in the front and back. I hope the bunnies love eating it as much as I love looking at it.

Bird Feeder

Bird Feeder

There are so many beautiful birds around our new house, so my mister and I got a pretty, little, cedar bird feeder. It’s amazing how many birds have come to nibble! The squirrels and bunnies are getting in on the treats, too. It’s awesome!

Bird Feeder

Awwwwwwe! These two are so precious.

So cute.

Flying-in for a nibble.

Bird Feeder

I love their chirping, especially first thing in the morning. ;0)

Bird Feeder

This little guy looks very official sitting there on his branch.

Bird Feeder

I think she might be hiding or something.

I just love looking at our cedar feeder and sitting in wait to see who comes to visit for a snack.
